Our democracy is under attack by powerful, well-funded, and highly-networked actors. As journalists and researchers, we face a dual threat: escalating assaults on our work and a media landscape increasingly unable to fight back. Source Code is our response.

FAQ

Who are you?

We’re a group of journalists and researchers deeply concerned about the growing assault on democracy, human rights, and the rule of law in the U.S. We’re publishing anonymously to ensure we can continue doing it. We’ve spent our careers in investigative reporting, data digging, and long-form journalism, and we’re bringing that experience to this project.

What is your mission?

To shine a light on the political and financial interests working to undermine democracy. We publish original reporting and primary source materials that expose how power really works. Our aim is to give journalists and the public the kind of information that sparks accountability.

Why aren’t you being named?

There’s open talk of “enemies lists.” Threats against journalists are getting louder. Anonymity lets us focus on the work and keep pushing it out.

Can we get in touch with you?

Yes. You can email us at contact@source-code.org or reach out securely via Signal at SourceCode.23.

Are you taking donations?

Not yet. The best way to support us right now is to share our work—especially with people who need it.

How should we credit Source Code?

Use what we publish. Build on it. Cite it. We just as that you credit Source Code by name and link back when you can. And if you're working on something related, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
